Please donate blood at CBI's semi-annual blood drive to be held on Monday, March 18, 2002 in the CBI social hall. We have been very successful in the past and hope to be able to donate many pints of blood again this year. Please contact Marla Nathan at (714) 505-4115 or the CBI office to schedule an appointment. There are new blood donations this year, so if you have spent a cumulative time of 6 months or more in Western Europe or 3 months in the United Kingdom from 1980 - present, you will be ineligible to donate blood. Thank you to everyone who supports this great event!
SAVE THE DATE! The 2nd annual CBI Mitzvah Day is coming, May 5, 2002. More information will be coming soon. If you are interested in helping please call Natalie Vishny.
We are continuing our collection of diapers and wipes through our Adopt a Social Worker program. Thanks to everyone for the donations. If you have other baby items to donate (infant clothing, furnishings, etc), questions about this program or would like to help, please call Beth Elster.
Collection of supplies to be donated to our servicemen and women abroad continues. Suggested items include batteries, games, playing cards, candy, cookies, stationary, stamps, magazines, etc. A package will be sent each month. Items should be dropped off at the CBI office. If you have any questions about this program or would like to help, please call Tammi Litke.
If you are in need of some help from the Comfort Committee or know of a synagogue member who requires assistance and we will arrange for someone to help. Just call the CBI office and we will take care of the rest. This program has been very successful so far and we look forward to continued participation by the entire CBI community! Thank you to Pearl Gerber who has taken on this project and to everyone in our CBI family who has participated!
Collections of used prescription eyeglasses and hearing aids are ongoing. We have made one delivery of glasses to Lens Crafters in Tustin. They then take the glasses and through donate them to those in need of glasses who are unable to afford them. If you have any old pairs cluttering up your drawers please drop them off in the CBI office and we will see that they are donated and put to good use.
