SHABBAT SERVICES
All are invited to join our services.

Shabbat and Holiday/Festival services are listed on the congregational interactive online calendar and in Hotline.

We encourage participation in all of our services. If you are interested in reading, assisting, or leading, and have expertise, please contact Congregation President Janice Yellon. Need to have a minyan for a yahrzeit? Want to learn to read Torah or haftarah? Contact Cantor Michael Rumack for information about training.

Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services are held on Friday nights. Times and locations are listed on the congregational interactive online calendar and in Hotline. We have family services, traditional services, a service including a speaker series, and unique services.

In a typical month, we hold at least two full Shabbat morning services beginning at 9:30 AM at Congregation Etz Hadar. These services are led by Cantor Michael Rumack.

Congregation Etz Hadar is currently working on a plan of monthly or bimonthly "Scholars in Residence" to work with Cantor Michael Rumack to create interesting Shabbatonim (lead our traditional monthly Rabbi's Shabbat services and programs) for the balance of the year. We will keep the Congregation informed of our progress. Cantor Rumack is designing "celebrations" and programs for our holidays in 5769 for Bet Sefer Hadarim yeledim and congregants and friends of Etz Hadar.

We also have weekly Shabbat prayers and study whenever we do not have a minyan and full Torah service . What we study depends on who is present. It could be the parasha for the week or a havurah text. What we do is flexible based on the abilities of the group that gathers. Come join us!
