June - July issue of Hotline available online The Congregation's newsletter, Hotline, has now gone bimonthly. The new issue is available online. Click on the NEWSLETTER button on the left to access the June - July issue. The newsletter issue includes our end of May events calendar. Be sure to check out all of the information! Leadership 5769-5770 The new Board of Directors was installed on June 16, 2009 with Julie Mazakas elected President of the Congregation. Click on the BOARD & OFFICERS button to the left to see a list of all of the members of the Board. Congregation Etz Hadar has developed a "Scholar in Residence" program to work with Cantor Michael Rumack to create interesting Shabbatonim. Deborah Silver, senior rabbinical student at AJU and past High Holy Days shliach tzibbur at CEH, was our first scholar (March-May 2009) with an educational program entitled, Torah L'Am. The program was a big success. We will continue the Scholar in Residence program next year. Cantor Rumack has designed "celebrations" and programs for holidays in 5769 for Bet Sefer Hadarim yeladim and congregants and friends of Etz Hadar. Murder, Mystery, and Mayhem event a big success Our big murder mystery event May 17 was a big success. Here is a picture of the "players" dressed to "kill." Cantor Michael Rumack in the April issue of OC Jewish Life Cantor Michael Rumack was featured in the April issue of OC Jewish Life in an article entitled, "A Touch of Yemen." The article detailed Michael's love of Yemenite music as well as describing his pastoral and life cycle ritual officiant capabilities. Join Etz Hadar for our "Back to our Roots" trip to Israel, June 22 - July 3 Congregation Etz Hadar has planned its first congregational trip to Israel. The tour will be led by Cantor Michael Rumack in concert with our professional tour guide and operator in Israel. Take a look at the trip flyer and the trip itinerary. Join us! The application can be found here. Click on the MEMBERSHIP button on the left for more information. We do not have a traditional dues structure. Instead, members are asked to contribute at a level that they can or wish to donate. A form for contribution/donation is available online. Click on the DONATIONS button on the left to access the form. Contribution/donation form for 2008-2009 available online We have made available our contribution/donation form online. Click on the DONATIONS button on the left to access the form. You will see that there are a number of important donation opportunities. The form can be mailed to Congregation Etz Hadar or brought to the shul the next time you visit.
