Sun, Nov. 4 - Jewish Book Fair Field Trip Free breakfast and lecture by author, Dr. Eugene Borowitz, on his book A Touch of the Sacred: A Theologian's Informal Guide to Jewish Belief. Meet at Temple Beth Sholom at 8:15 AM, we will carpool to the Jewish Community Center in La Jolla. Lecture begins at 9:30 AM, expect it to finish around 11AM, we will browse the Jewish Book Fair for about another hour and carpool back to the temple. We should arrive back by 12:30. Although this is free we need to reserve tickets in advance, so please RSVP to Naomi as soon as possible if you are interested in going. She can be reached at NaomiPT2000@aol.com or 619-271-7486. Sun, Dec. 2 - Latke Bake We will be meeting in the kitchen in the social hall to make Latke's to sell at our Hanukkah Party which is a big fundraiser for the temple. No latke making experience needed but we need volunteers to help. Come spend a morning with us, we'll cook, we'll chat, we'll have a good time! RSVP to Naomi if you can help. Sun, Dec 9 - Hanukkah Party Our annual Hanukkah party will take place from 12:30-3 PM in the social hall. We will have fun and games for adults and kids, prizes, latkes, sofganiot (donuts), gelt, dreidels! Plus our silent auction and raffle and songs from the preschool. Come join us for a fun afternoon and support Temple Beth Sholom. We are looking for volunteers to help run some of the booths at the party (may be adult or teen) and anyone with balloon animal making skills. Contact Naomi if you can help. See Flyer |

Mah Jong Madness Shirley Boardman has kindly offered to give Mah Jong lessons for those interested in learning how to play. If you are an experienced player, beginner, or would like to learn to play come and play every Friday morning at 10:00 am. Call office for details. |

Youth Group The Youth Group is geared for all Temple Beth Sholom Kids! Led by our teen member Adam Glick and supervised by Marla Rosenbaum. Cost is $35 per year, 2nd child ˝ price. The fee helps cover the cost of snacks and materials. Sign up today! |

Preschool Extended Hours Temple Beth Sholom Preschool would like to offer extended hours. From 6am or 7am (depends on interest) until 6pm. In order to begin we must have a minimum of 3 children enrolled in the extended program. There are limited number of openings available. Jewish Family Service BIGPal Mentoring Program for Boys and Girls The Jewish Family Service BIGPal Mentoring Program provides a unique opportunity for a caring Jewish adult to form a meaningful relationship with a Jewish boy or girl. We need mail and female Big Pals, ages 19 and up. Children 6-16 years old from single parent or non-traditional families and in need of an additional adult role model are eligible to receive Big Pals. Big and Little Pals meet two times each month to participate in recreational, educational, or community activities they both enjoy.
