I'm Raffi Mark and I;m thrilled to be the Hagalil Regional President 2008-2009.
Here's a little about me: My name is Rephael Tzvi Mark. I am from the Wayne chapter. I am one of 4 kids. My older siblings Avi and Penina both staff in our region, and my younger sister Danit is going to be in 10th grade. My dad is the Rabbi at Shomrei Torah in Wayne and my mom is the Associate Youth Director of our region, though most of you know her as Dassy who helps Michelle. I am going to be a senior at Solomon Schechter in West Orange. Through school I traveled to Chile last summer on an exchange program.
My USY life: I was Chapter President of Wayne for two years, and Heschel Chair for two years. Throughout my USY career I have enjoyed traveling all over New Jersey for conventions and dances, traveling across the US (and Canada) with USY on Wheels Bus C 06, and traveling in Israel on the Halutzim Seminar. This coming summer I look forward to going on Eastern Europe - Israel Pilgrimage 2nd Departure.
Now for more interesting things: I am an avid volleyball player (so if you ever want to play get in touch with me and we’ll find a way), I enjoy a good book (some of my favorites are the Outsiders, Shane, Harry Potter), I love music, but I’m not too particular, I like music in English (Dave Mathews, Springsteen, Bon Jovi), Hebrew (Idan Raichel, Hadag Nachash) and Spanish (Ricardo Arjona). I can speak English (like a native) and Hebrew and Spanish very well.
