Seffi Kogen, Regional Executive/Israel VP
Hey Hagalil! My name is Seffi Kogen and I’m your ’08-‘09 Executive Committees/ Israel Awareness VP! I’m 17, 6 feet 1 inch tall, from Fair Lawn, and I am a senior at Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union. I am the middle child in my USY-oriented family. I have an older sister named Navah who is 22, and was Hagalil regional staff (until she made aliyah in September), and a younger brother named Matan who is 8. I just had the best summer of my life on Eastern Europe/Israel Pilgrimage (Group 11!) this summer. I’d love to talk to any of you about why you should go on Pilgrimage or Wheels, and I am excited to hear your stories upon returning home. I love baseball and I’m a diehard Yankees fan and a member of the Schechter Roadrunners baseball team. I am a bass in my school choir. Some of my favorite books are Moneyball, Catch-22, One Flew Over the Cookoo’s Nest, The Natural, and The Grapes of Wrath. I listen to all sorts of music, but as I type this a song by Dispatch just ended and one by Beit Habubot is coming on (if you want to talk Israeli music, come find me!). I also happen to love apple juice, reading jpost.com, studying tanach, and USY Shabbatot. At the next convention come on over and introduce yourself. I’m looking forward to a great year, and you all should be too!
