What's Happening

USCJ Biennial Convention, December 2005 - The USCJ Biennial Convention 2005 will take place December 4-8 in Boston and will offer workshops, seminars, and institutes. Check out the Convention Update for the latest information on the event.

IMUN Leadership Training Program - Register for IMUN 2005, an exciting seminar retreat designed to strengthen lay religious leadership in USCJ congregations. The program will be held July 31 to August 8. Find out more details.

High Holiday Cantor Placement - The USCJ offers a cantor placement service for the High Holidays.

Register for USY Summer Travel Programs - The Department of Youth Activities offers a wide variety of summer programs. From North American bus trips to travel in Europe and Israel, and from outdoor experiences to city programs, there is sure to be something to appeal to every teen. Find out more.

NATIV College Leadership Program - The NATIV College Leadership Program offers high school graduates a year of living, studying, volunteering, and traveling in Israel before entering college. Learn more about the program.

Building a Jewish Home Library - From the USCJ Art Engagement Calendar comes this helpful series on building a Jewish home library. Book suggestions include topics from Bar/Bat Mitzvah to Halakhah, from Bible to Zionism. Great ideas for gift giving as well. Find out more.

Conservative Yeshiva Summer Program 2005 - USCJ's Conservative Yeshiva is now accepting applications for its Summer Program in Jerusalem. The program accommodates students of all levels and backgrounds. Two sessions are offered.

Fuchsberg Center Hosts JEA's First Conference in Israel - The Jewish Educators Assembly held its first conference in Israel this past February 2005. JEA utilized the Center and staff to the fullest, offering simultaneous study sessions, many of which were taught by Fuchsberg and Yeshiva personnel.

The Fuchsberg Center Serves All - The Center is a hub for many USCJ programs that serve youth and college students. The Center also offers visitors study sessions, lectures, travel help and housing at the Tichnor Residence Hall. Learn about the many programs and services provided.

Day of Learning Honors the 10th Anniversary of Conservative Yeshiva - On Sunday, February 20, 2005, a Day of Learning celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Over 120 people attended the event held at Congregation Ansche Chesed in New York City. Find out more.

MERCAZ USA Voter Registration - MERCAZ USA represents Conservative Jews at The World Zionist Conference, which will next meet in Jerusalem in June 2006. In preparation for this event, MERCAZ USA is holding voter registration in Fall 2005. In order to significantly promote the Conservative Jewish agenda in Israel at the Conference, MERCAZ USA seeks to increase membership for the forthcoming election of the American delegation scheduled for early 2006. All Conservative Jews are encouraged to join MERCAZ. In addition, synagogues are encouraged to provide their membership the opportunity of joining through a dues check-off system. Glenn Easton named NAASE President - The North American Association of Synagogue Executives named Glenn Easton the President of the organization at a ceremony in Jerusalem in February. Mr. Easton is a veteran synagogue administrator, presently serving as Executive Director of Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, DC. NAASE offers educational programs and support that develop the skills of synagogue administrators.
