Who is eligible to join HeChalutzim?
Any USYer who is a paid member of their chapter and region.
What do I receive as a HeChalutzim member?
Once you’ve signed up to be a Chalutz, you’ll receive your HeChalutzim membership card and HeChalutzon, the HeChalutzim newsletter. Also, Chalutzimers get access to special late night sessions at convention, meaning they get to stay up later than everyone else!
Are there any HeChalutzim events?
During the course of the year, Regional and International HeChalutzim programs, events, and seminars are held throughout the USY regions. At International Convention, the USY Shaliach will conduct membership ceremonies for any new HeChalutzim members. There is also the annual HeChalutzim Seminar in Israel, when 17 Chalutzim, one from each region, travel to Israel for ten days of learning and experiencing the sights and sounds of Israel, while also seeing USY’s ongoing programs in Israel (Nativ and USY High).
What else do I do as a Chalutz?
You’ll be involved in a number of activities as a HeChalutzim member. You can help prepare Israel programs, join the Regional Israel General Board and help in organizing Israel events for the region.
How do I join?
Easy! You have four options. On the application for convention, check off the box that asks you if you’d like to join, include an extra ten dollars, and that’s all you need to do. You can also find me during an event, and I’ll take your form and ten dollars. Also, at International Convention there is a booth where you can sign up.
