December: Diversity

Heyyy Hanefesh!
Was it just me, or did November go by really fast? Well, it's time for what I'm sure you've all been waiting for.......... the Awareness Topic for December! YESSSS!!! I hope you were able to do something with last month's topic (Hunger). And now, I am excited to announce that the topic this month is....

DIVERSITY!!

You may be saying to yourself, "how is diversity a problem?" It all depends on the individual's level of  tolerance and their treatment towards others. The Jewish standpoint says that we were all created in god's image. So does that make us all the same? Indeed, it does not. While we all are a part of the same culture, we each have a different role and job in society. It is up to you to determine what that role is.

Even on a larger scale, among other cultures, we are all in this world
to keep it prejudice-free. Those who partake in racist or discriminatory acts are only creating conflicts. People in this world must learn to be more TOLERANT. A lack of tolerance is one of the things that is dividing the
society today. A major ideal of SA/TO, and Judaism as a whole, is g'milut chasadim, our acts of love and kindness. This month, as we enter the holiday season, which your friends, neighbors, and teachers a happy holiday. Whether they are celebrating Chanukah, Christmas, or Kwanza, show them that you care.

B'Hatzlachah! :)
