To paraphrase an important American document, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, a partnership of more than 700 Conservative congregations, is composed of the synagogues, is empowered by the synagogues, and exists for the synagogues.

From providing programming materials to training Hebrew school teachers to offering peer group support in the face of new halakhic challenges, United Synagogue helps its members fulfill the particular needs of their congregations whether large or small.

Why affiliate? United Synagogue members never have to go it alone. There's strength in numbers, as evidenced by our repeated success in upholding the rights of Conservative Jews, in North America and in Israel. Because we are united in partnership, no one Conservative synagogue, alone, must defend itself against threats to amend the Law of Return or redefine who is a Jew. No single synagogue must go it alone in creating a Conservative approach to Jewish education, or develop its own prayerbook, or train its own personnel.

We understand your needs as a Conservative synagogue. You have undertaken perhaps the hardest of all jobs, to maintain tradition creatively. United Synagogue can help you deal with the implications of this challenging position. And as shareholders in a large partnership, you'll never have to reinvent the wheel.
