Ceremony for College-Bound Students

Many United Synagogue congregations have scheduled a special Shabbat to honor students departing for college. "Lekh Lekha: A Ceremony of Going Forth," is a brief ceremony for Shabbat morning that enables a congregation to acknowledge what has become a major life-cycle event

in Jewish families. Since its inception two years ago, Lekh Lekha has been used in dozens of congregations and is now an annual ritual.
