World Wide Web Development
Welcome to the Webmaster Information section of the USCJ website.
This page is updated periodically. To keep up to date about USCJ Web hosting services, subscribe to the USCJ-Spider e-mail list.
The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism is facilitating World Wide Web development by its affiliated organizations by providing free web hosting on its server for affiliated synagogues and schools to create their own websites, including virtual domains (like http://www.your-synagogue.org), e-mail, listserv and Microsoft FrontPage hosting.
Menu of Internet Hosting Services
In order to mount a page on the USCJ server, webmasters, also known as "spiders," should first read the USCJ Web Development Guidelines. Then, the organization's chief executive officer (synagogue president, school principal, or equivalent) should send authorization by mail or e-mail to the appropriate contact listed in the guidelines.
Each USCJ synagogue, region, or other organization will be provided a directory for its use on the USCJ server. This directory will be under USCJ's directory and also under the subdirectory for the appropriate region. The organization's directory is created when the president or executive director sends his or her approval to USCJ. An e-mail message confirming the account setup and giving the directory name and password is sent to the person indicated in the authorizing message. It takes approximately two days to set up an account and directories.
