United Synagogue Youth (1995)
WHEREAS the elected Leadership of United Synagogue Youth has embarked upon an effort to create stronger ties between USY members and their respective congregations; and
WHEREAS THE UNITED SYNGAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM strives to encourage young Jews of high school age to become active participants in synagogue life; and
WHEREAS young people have often expressed a sense of alienation from the synagogue,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that THE UNITED SYNGAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM encourages the Leadership of its Regions and affiliated congregations to engage in active dialogue with the Regional USY Leadership, and teenagers with their congregations in order to determine ways for the synagogue to become a more welcoming and appealing place for this critical segment of our population,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that THE UNITED SYNGAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM applauds the efforts and concerns of the USYers.
