United Synagogue Calendar Art Photo Contest
It’s that time of year again – time for us at the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism to ask members of our affiliated congregations to enter our calendar photo contest.
We would like the next calendar – that’s the 5770 (2009-2010) issue, if you can believe it! - to be about our synagogues in general. It will feature photographs of of anything in or around your synagogue, as long as your synagogue is an affiliated member of United Synagogue. Pictures of your ark, parochet, bimah, yad, or Torah mantle; interior or exterior pictures of your building, stained glass, wall hangings, or other art; and photographs any ritual objects all are welcome. Use your imagination! We will accept as many photographs from one synagogue as you’d like to send us. Keep in mind, though, that not only should the subject of the photo be beautiful but the photograph, too, should be of high quality. The higher quality the photo, more likely it is to win the contest.
Submission Requirements
It would be best if you could send all entries by email. We'd like
- A professional quality digital photo. If you cannot email it, send it by CD. We can also accept a color transparency; a color photograph, or a color slide.
- A brief description of the item.
- Congregational identification – your synagogue’s full name, city, and state.
Email entries to palmer@uscj.org. Until the end of August 2008, mail hard copies to United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism; Rapaport House; 155 Fifth Avenue, NY, NY 10010, Attn: Calendar Photo Contest - 6th Floor. After August 31, please call for the address.
The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2008. For information, call the department of communications at 212-533-7800, ext. 2600, or email info@uscj.org.
