| Biography:Â Rabbi Amy Eilberg is the first woman ordained as a Conservative rabbi by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. From her ordination in 1985 until 2005, she worked in pastoral care, hospice and spiritual direction. Since that time, she has directed interfaith dialog programs in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN, including at the Jay Phillips Center for Interfaith Learning and the Saint Paul Interfaith Network. For the past ten years, she has pursued training in several systems of mediation and conflict resolution, and has conducted in-person interviews with leaders of many grassroots Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilding programs. Deeply engaged with issues of conflict within the American Jewish community, she has taught the art of listening in Jewish venues throughout the U.S. She now works with the Jewish Council on Public Affairs on its Civility Campaign and serves on the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations. She is also at work on a book, tentatively entitled, "From Enemy to Friend: Jewish Reflections on Everyday Peacemaking." |
