Biography: Rabbi Morris Allen has served as the first Rabbi of Beth Jacob Congregation in Mendota Heights, MN since August 1986. Upon his arrival, the fledgling congregation had 60 households and no building. Twenty-six years later, Beth Jacob is recognized as one of the most vibrant and engaged Conservative congregations in the country. Beth jacob is seen as one of the most inclusive and welcoming communities in the Twin Cities. In addition, he has been a leader in the development of an ethical seal for the production of Kosher food. The Magen Tzedek seal will be on products beginning in 2012. He has been nationally recognized by the Forward newspaper and Newsweek magazine as one of America's leading rabbis. An engaging and vibrant teacher and speaker, Rabbi Allen has served as a scholar in residence around the country in a variety of settings--inclduign shuls and schools. He and his wife, Dr. Phyllis Gorin are the proud parents of three adult children
