| Biography:Â Rabbi Rebecca Joseph, PhD is the Founder/Executive Chef of the award-winning 12 Tribes Kosher Foods in San Francisco, CA. 12 Tribes is the groundbreaking integration of her experience hosting thousands of seasonal kosher meals with family, friends and guests; blogging about Jews and food (The Parve Baker, The Jew and the Carrot); conducting applied ethnographic research on culture, food and identity; and volunteering in community-based food programs of Jewish and secular non-profits. She was a founding and Core Group member of Hazon’s first CSA (at Congregation Ansche Chesed in NYC), served on the Executive Committee as Jewish Life Chair of its 1st Food Conference, and was kashrut supervisor for its first two CA bike rides.
