YOU ARE HERE: Framework for Excellence >> Schools Meeting the Criteria

Framework for Excellence Schools

These congregations have fulfilled all criteria of the Framework for Excellence for the Conservative synagogue school as of December 1, 2007. They have met the benchmarks, shared elements and conform to one of the models.

For information on how your synagogue can enter the Framework, contact Wendy Light at 215-869-1830 or e-mail her at Light@uscj.org.

Special Commendation

Schools indicated by an asterisk * are schools meriting special commendation. They maintain the preferred pattern for the elementary school years and meet the shared elements and benchmarks. This preferred pattern for classes, meeting three times a week for six hours-not including Shabbat-for a minimum of five years has the strength of allowing needed time coupled with frequency of meeting. Frequency of contact, enhances the mastery of skills and the retention of knowledge.

# = In Transition Status

A merged congregation has a period of time to bring entire merged schools into Framework compliance.
