Project 1 - Give Kids the World

Give Kids The World Village is a 70-acre, non-profit resort that creates magical memories and fulfills wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. It provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations, and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World has welcomed nearly 75,000 families from all 50 states and 53 countries.

The village includes the Castle of Miracles, Enchanted Carousel, Amberville Train Station, Ice Cream Palace, Gingerbread House and more! Volunteers, better known as angels, serve the meals, scoop the ice cream, operate the mini-attractions, and run the entertainment programs and activities that take place every day.

The morning volunteer shift, from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., might include serving breakfast, running the train, helping with character photos and horse rides, and running the carousel, among many other activities. The afternoon shift typically lasts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and could include painting, cleaning, or landscaping projects. The evening shift is from 4 to 9 p.m. and could include participating in our nightly celebration (there is a party with a different them each night of the week), driving the train, running the Enchanted Carousel, scooping ice cream and many other activities.
