Campus Update: George Washington University

By Aviva Berman

This month at the George Washington University has been packed! To celebrate Sukkot in our own special way, the KOACH community gathered to roll sushi! More than 25 people showed up on Oct. 1 to hang out with their friends, learn about the holiday of Sukkot and munch on salmon rolls. This first event was a wild sensation and the we look forward to a repeat success for next year!

Even though the hagim are over, KOACH at GW is not taking it easy. The group, which boasts more than a hundred members, is gearing up for the famed KOACH Shabbat. KOACH Shabbat will include thoughtful discussions, singing and a creative Havdalah to conclude the annual weekend. Shortly after KOACH Shabbat, GW will host the second annual "Judaism and Politics Debate." Representatives from the College Democrats and Republicans will duke it out to show which political party is best suited to the Jewish people. Last year 90 students showed up to watch the debate and support their party, so we are hoping for bigger and better this year!
