Campus Update: University of Arizona
Justine Slovin NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FREE FOOD...especially when it's kosher for Pesah! We planned what we thought would be a fun, intimate get together during the holiday; we bought matzah pizza ingredients and rented the Prince of Egypt. However, the dinner party/movie night ended up attracting nearly 50 hungry students! What I have seen over the past couple of weeks are students who are hungry for not only matzah, but a sense of tradition and cohesiveness during the holidays when so many are far from home. KOACH prepared for Pesah with a hallah baking bread binge and an outdoor chocolate seder, both of which attracted many students and lots of new faces. Taking on Passover as a group has helped new students find comfort in KOACH and has definitely strengthened our campus community.
