Job Description

Jewish Day Camp in suburban Philadelphia seeks Teva Specialist (Nature and Outdoor Adventure instructor) available from June 15th to August 17th, 2011. Join our team of talented, creative staff and 200+ campers (aged 4 to 12 years).

Our Nature/Outdoor Adventure program promotes environmental consciousness and appreciation for nature through a variety of in and out of camp experiences.

  • Our teva leader brings an enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, Environmental education, gardening, animal care and orienteering
  • Our teva leader will instruct the campers in the recycling process, tending to our camp garden, taking care of animals and, outdoor adventures which include hiking, orienteering and camping
  • Our ideal teva leader has worked with children, preferably in a camp environment; including small group instruction
  • Our ideal teva leader brings creativity and hands-on activities to this position
  • Must have strong leadership skills and will serve as a positive Jewish role model
  • Works collaboratively with program director, educators and counselors

 

Location India, Minsk, Ethiopia, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Vienna and the Former Soviet Union.

Job Description Use your skills and commitment to Jewish life to help an overseas Jewish community! The JDC Jewish Service Corps sends self-starting, creative, college graduates and young professionals to work and live in international Jewish communities for one year placements. The work includes Jewish education, community outreach and development, and welfare/relief projects.
Special Skills JDC provides housing, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and covers all work related expenses. Placements for fall 2006 include India, Minsk, Ethiopia, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Vienna, and the Former Soviet Union. Visit
