Jewish College Inventory

When selecting a school, academic and social considerations are quite important. Often, students searching for the "right" college neglect to investigate fully Jewish life on campus. Answering the following questions will help you evaluate your own Jewish values and will give you a good guide for the kind of questions you may want to ask when searching for a school. 

Rate each item on the list using the following scale:

1—Not important at all 

2—Not very important

3—Pretty important

4—Very important

Compare your answers with your parents—don't be afraid to discuss things with them... 

How do I feel about...

__ Going to a school with an active Jewish population 

__ The presence of a Hillel Foundation which offers a range of programs and services 

__ The opportunity to keep Kosher at school 

__ Being a part of a Jewish community to celebrate Shabbat and holidays 

__ Having to attend mandatory classes on Jewish holidays and Shabbat 

__ Being able to take some courses from a Jewish Studies Department 

__ Keeping up with my friends from home

__ Dating only Jews

__ Identifying as a Conservative Jew
