The renovated USCJ website incorporates the latest navigation technology for effective information presentation. This section will help site visitors become comfortable with the navigation tools and quickly find the information they need.

Subject Tabs

(Internet Explorer version 7.0 and above is recommended)

At the top of every page, you will see the subject tabs corresponding to the many areas in which the USCJ provides information. "Mouse-Over" a tab to view the menu-options displayed in the dark blue bar just under the home menu bar. Click on the tab to activate the section; the menu-options will remain in the dark blue bar. Then "mouse-over" the menu options to see "drill-down" boxes displaying further pages which can be selected.

The dark blue triangular pointers indicate that there are more levels of information available. Simply mouse-over to see further choices, then click on the "content" you seek.

All levels shown on the menu, from the highest to the lowest, contain information and are clickable. The section you are in will remain highlighted on the menu to remind you where you are on the site.

Returning Home

To return to the USCJ homepage, click on the USCJ logo in the upper left hand corner of every page.

General Search

The search field beneath the tabs allows a general search of the site. A keyword entry searches the entire USCJ main site, as well as all the linked server sub-sites.

Find a Synagogue

Synagogue search combines search by city and state. To search by city, type in the city and then click on "Find Synagogue". You will get a list of all USCJ affiliated synagogues in that particular city. To search by state, simply click the desired state on the map. You can also see the entire list of affiliated synagogues in alphabetical order by clicking on "Affiliated Congregations (A-Z)".

Find Candlelighting Times

In the “Candlelighting” section, you can find Shabbat candlelighting times for cities around the world. Clicking on the “Candelighting” icon on the left-hand side and select city, month and year from the drop-down menus.
