Dear Synagogue Leader:
We are all aware of the many issues that Israel is confronting because of the challenges to its sovereignty this summer. Lives were lost. Homes were destroyed. People were displaced.
Since the creation of the modern state of Israel, Diaspora Jews have said that we stand with Israel. To do that, we must do much more than talk. We must be partners in the task of rebuilding the country.
In cooperation with other Conservative movement organizations, and with groups from other parts of the Jewish world, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism is proud to support the Israel Emergency Campaign. The campaign was created and is run by the United Jewish Communities and local federations throughout North America. The funds it raises will be used to help in humanitarian efforts to aid victims of terror, displaced families, and others in Israel who need our help. It will be used as well to help Conservative/Masorti organizations rebuild and keep growing. It is important that congregations and congregants mobilize to generate support for this important effort.
This is the time for Conservative Jews to stand with Israel!
Sincerely yours,

Dr. Raymond B. Goldstein
